We Know Our Actions Have Consequences

Even if we don't know ultimate reality, we should base our beliefs, decisions, and actions on how things work. For example, there is empirical evidence (evidence based on observations and experiments) that our actions have consequences.
Just because something makes you feel good or moves you doesn't mean that it's true or right.

It is outrageous to tell someone that if they have enough faith, they can perform miracles (for example, heal the sick or raise the dead) or be the beneficiary of miracles when you know damn well they can't.

A leap of faith is intellectual suicide.
Reserve the term miracle for when the laws of nature are defied (hint: never).

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." ~Voltaire

Beliefs founded on faith are regularly used to try to justify putting others in harm's way (e.g., "God will take care of us"), the bad things that happen (e.g., "It's God's will"), and doing bad things (e.g., "God commanded it"). I recommend that you ground your beliefs on evidence and reason instead so that you can better prevent bad things from happening and avoid doing bad things.

No One's There To Hear Your Prayers

Q: Of all the countless prayers that have been offered to deities or other unseen forces throughout history, how many have been answered?

A: Zero

Just A Coincidence

There are a lot of coincidences, but none of them are miracles, and none of them are meant to be.

The Concept Of God Is Incompatible With What We Know About The World

There's no room for a god in science, reality, or the universe. Any reasonable explanations we have regarding existence don't require the involvement of a god to substantiate them.

Without Evidence, I Have No Reason To Believe

The burden of proof is upon the person making up the story. For example, if you claim that there is a god, then it is up to you to provide observable and testable evidence in order for the default position that there is no god to be rejected.

On What Do You Base Your Beliefs About Reality?

Instead of basing my beliefs about reality on made-up stories, i base them on valid evidence.
